I was born in Nottingham, England and emigrated to Canada in 2009 with my wife Colleen. We are both now proud Canadian Citizens. I have been a Wildlife/Nature Photographer for many years and back in England I was very active in the photography club and competition scene and won awards along the way.
I remember the change from film to digital and embraced that change very early on. After a few visits to North Vancouver Island on vacation I knew I had to live in this amazing place.
So from 2009 until 2017 I made the North Island my home and began to spend lots of time out in the rainforest or exploring the coastlines of this amazing area. My love of spending time around black bears and making images began and what a journey that has been. Spending time around a wild animal is a privilege not to be taken lightly and making a connection is a very special moment.
Along the journey I have encountered wolves, cougars, bears, elk, deer, whales, otters, mink, eagles and other animals and of course the landscape itself.
In 2017 due to work commitments, we moved down Island to Bowser, another beautiful area that we now call home. I am busy exploring and making images here but I do make frequent trips back to the North Island. I am always striving to record those moments in time that the natural world can show us.
On your journeys please protect and respect the natural world. As a wise man once said, "Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints."
