Capturing light photons that have taken thousands of light years to reach us is a fascinating concept. In essence we are seeing the object as it was then.

So with my camera, a telescope tripod and a lot of patience I have photographed a few of the many objects in our night sky.

Astrophotography can be very frustrating but don`t let that put you off giving it a go.

All the images below were taken with my Canon 40d mounted on a bracket located on top of my telescope with a 400mm lens or the 40d body connected directly to the scope.

  Orion Nebula M42

   Comet Holmes

Andromeda Galaxy M31 2.2 million light years away!

   Lunar Eclipse

    Ring Nebula M57
